Baku-Supsa oil pipeline soon resume functioning
Friday, October 31
The President of the Azerbaijan state oil company, Rovnev Abdulaev, has said that after rehabilitation works the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline will begin functioning in the near future. The first two tankers from Supsa will be loaded with oil in the second and third weeks of November.
Abdulaev says that the BTC oil pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum natural gas pipeline have resolved Azeri oil and gas transportation problems and secured the country’s energy safety. Baku-Supsa was initially a pilot project prior to BTC proving the viability of the new energy transport route via Georgia.
