NABUCCO project depends on Turkmenistan

For the successful realization of NABUCCO project it is very important to receive Turkmenistan’s consent, says Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusu Kilic, who also suggested that the EU should be more active in promoting this issue.

The Turkish Ambassador said that the project represents a very good opportunity for Azerbaijan to sell its natural gas to European markets. The NABUCCO participant countries have not yet concluded an interstate agreement concerning the implementation of the project, but presumably, if there are no problems, the NABUCCO pipeline could start functioning in 2013.
