OSCE promoting free media in South Caucasus

“The Main Challenges of Public Service Broadcasters and the Digital Switchover.” This event was organized and sponsored by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Representative on Freedom of the Media and The OSCE Mission to Georgia. The attending delegations from three South Caucasus countries included members of their legislative bodies, state officials, NGOs, opposition representatives and independent journalists.

Head of the OSCE Mission to Georgia Terhi Hakala and key speaker Miklos Haraszti, OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, highlighted the challenges the South Caucasus countries would meet on the way towards democracy in their countries. Participants highlighted different problems they have promoting a free media in their countries.
