During the first ten months of 2008 Russian investments in Georgia increased almost sevenfold. Russian trade mission representative Juri Shedrin stated this in Baku on December 3, where he mentioned that this figure could have been higher had there been a better legislative base.
According to Azeri official data, trade turnover between two countries reached USD 1.9 billion. Russian sources quote USD 2 billion, a figure roughly coinciding.
