Patriarch`s Scholarship established at TSU

On December 30 Tbilisi State University established the Scholarship of Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II. His Holiness hosted the Tbilisi State University Professors and two scholarship holders at his residence in Tbilisi.
The first scholarship holders are Maia Danelia and Leri Tavadze, who will receive GEL 200 annually to support their studies. The Patriarch presented copies of the book Sunny Night and bracelets to the grant holders. The book is about the life of His Holiness.
At his meeting with TSU representatives the Patriarch discussed Russian-Georgian relations and appealed to Georgian society to stand firm and united. “Today the Georgian people are suppressed, but with God’s blessing Georgia has a good future. It will have a good future if we behave attentively,” Ilia II said.
According to the Patriarch his meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was a good sign and the Russian delegation’s reciprocal visit to Georgia was a welcome response. He said that there are ways in which Georgia can be reunited. “This process has already begun. Our authorities should actively continue in this way in order to achieve success,” he said.
