Armenia’s GDP reaches USD 12 billion

Armenia’s GDP grew by 7% in 2008 to approximately USD 12 billion. It is planned that in 2009 GDP will increase by a further 10%.

However in 2008 Armenia’s exports decreased, being worth just a bit over USD 1 billion, whereas imports increased by 35%, being worth USD 4.4 billion.

The average Armenian salary in 2008 was around USD 300.

In 2008 officially are registered around 90,000 uinimployed.
