The world economic crisis has influenced the functioning of the Azerbaijani-owned Kulevi oil terminal near Poti. Director General of the terminal Kerim Guliev has stated that trading companies don’t want to sell for less a product they now have to pay more for and therefore transportation of oil products from the terminal has halved.

Traders are waiting for the price to improve and not selling their stock, therefore oil transportation and sales have decreased. However February saw a slight increase in terminal activity, by 15%.
