Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has demanded that his Government take serious measures to speed up the full implementation of the Odessa -Brodi pipeline project. He stated that Azerbaijan is ready to send a sufficient amount of oil through this route to satisfy Ukrainian and European markets.
The initial plan for the Odessa Brodis pipeline was to create a means of transporting oil to central Europe without going through Russian territory. The pipeline was built in 1996-2001 but for some time it has not functioned. Now the decision has been taken to exploit the full potential of the pipeline.
