Certain analysts think that a very peculiar confrontation could start in Central Asia due to different attitudes to water. At presence peace is maintained in the area because each country has access to water resources, but the various states use these in different ways. The major consumers of water are Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan but the owners and producers of it are Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Water is a deficit product in the area and therefore net producers and net consumers face different challenges, addressing which may lead them into conflict.
