Deputy Minister of Finance Papuna Petriashvili has stated that the priorities for 2010-2013 initially outlined by the Georgian Government will not be changed. These are combating poverty, addressing social issues, ensuring Georgia’s economic welfare and restoring territorial integrity. These priorities should be discussed and confirmed again while deliberating the 2010 budget.
The listing of priorities sounds perfect. The question is how these goals should be reached. All the challenges stated are of vital importance and the situation in each of these areas has deteriorated since 2008 due to the August war and the world economic crisis.
