After officially leaving the CIS Georgia will continue to conduct bilateral relations with CIS countries under the terms of around 70 different documents. This decision was taken on June 3-4 at Minsk at the meeting of the experts group which discussed Georgia’s participation in certain CIS agreements.
Apart from continuing to further bilateral relations Georgia will also still be party to some CIS agreements, in particular those in which, according to its charter, non-CIS countries can also be signatories and beneficiaries. Georgia will officially withdraw from the CIS on August 18.
