The Association of Small Entrepreneurs of Georgia states that the Georgian tax code does not take the small entrepreneur into account. Association representative Tamaz Vashakidze complains that the tax code does not mention small entrepreneurs. The Association has drafted a new legislative proposal to address this and submitted it to Parliament and the Ministry of Economy.

Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on the Sectoral Economy, Temur Tsurtsumia, says that Georgian legislation distinguishes between large, medium-sized and small enterprises but in real terms there is no difference between small and medium-sized entrepreneurs.
