2008 Saba Award winners named

TBC Bank has held the 7th Saba literary award ceremony at which the best books and authors of 2008 were named.

The following awards were presented:

1. Best Prose Collection - Gigi Sulakauri’s “Game With A Revolver”
2. Best Collection of Poems - Batu Danelia’s “Mirabilis Vita”
3. Best Novel - Teona Dolenjashvili’s “Memphisi”
4. Best Translation - Giorgi Ekizashvili’s version of Don Juan by Moliere
5. Best Play - Lasha Bugadze’s Naftalini
6. Best Criticism, Essay or Documentary Prose -Levan Bregvadze’s “Stories in Literature”
7. Best Debut - Diana Anpimiadi’s “Chocolate” and Giorgi Kekelidze’s “Wooden Houses”

The award for the most significant contribution to the development of Georgian Literature went to Chabua Amirejibi, an outstanding Georgian writer.

The Annual Saba Literary Awards were co-founded in 2003 by TBC Bank, the Georgian PEN Club and the Rustavi-2 broadcasting company.
