Turkey- Greece-Italy gas pipeline issue

Azerbaijan will extend its natural gas pipeline to Greece, it was announced at a meeting between Ministers of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov of Azerbaijan and Dora Bakoyannis of Greece. The Azeri Minister stated that there are also serious negotiations underway on constructing a Turkey, Greece and Italy gas pipeline, another good means of supplying Europe with energy resources.

It is known that some time ago Russian state owned company Gazprom signed an agreement with Azerbaijan which stated that it would receive a certain amount of Azeri natural gas starting in 2010.
