The Belarus Foreign Ministry has stated that it wishes to receive support for its projects through the Eastern Partnership Programme. Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Voronetsky highlights that the country is working in all the relevant directions, democracy and human rights, economic integration, energy security and contacts between people, to be included in the programme. He says Belarus has submitted a draft project to the relevant EU bodies, which will study those suggestions and offer their vision.
In September–October in 2009, the Eastern Partnership Programme will convene a session at which final decisions will be taken. EPP participating countries are ready to increase their engagement with the West and are expecting more energetic moves from the EU to make this happen.
