Azerbaijan to build natural gas storage in Georgia

Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR plans to build an underground natural gas storage facility which will hold 300 million cubic metres of gas. This was stated by the President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdulaev. Negotiations of further points are underway. SOCAR will also finance the installing of individual gas meters for customers in Georgia, 150,000 in one tranche and then the same number again.
SOCAR Georgia owns 22 gas distribution companies countrywide and is to invest an extra USD 40 million in the development of a gas distribution infrastructure.
