Money transfer issues

In August 2009 USD 75 million was transferred into Georgia from other countries, 4.4 million less than in July. A major reason for this decrease is the decline in money transfers from Russia.

Money transfers in general are seriously decreasing. In 2008 Georgia received USD 917.9 million in money transfers. In the first half of 2009 the figure was USD 322.5 million.
