Armenians divided over signing protocols with Turkey

Former Foreign Minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanian thinks that 70% of the Turkish population supports the signing of protocols on restoring diplomatic relations between Turkey and Armenia but 55-70% of the Armenian population is against it. The protocols, which will be signed in Zurich on October 10, will regulate the relations between the two countries. They will be submitted to the respective Parliaments for ratification, presumably before October 14, when Armenia’s President Serzh Sarkisian will travel to the Turkish city of Bursa to attend the football match between the national teams of Armenia and Turkey.
The world has witnessed ‘ping pong diplomacy’ between the USA and China, now we are seeing football diplomacy between Turkey and Armenia.
