Georgia the World Bank’s biggest debtor

Over the last several years Georgia has taken more money from the World Bank than any other country or institution. Studies carried out by the Centre for Economic Research show that during this period Georgia has taken over GEL 5 billion in loans altogether from the World Bank.
Georgia has taken loans from the World Bank, IMF, EU, the International Foundation for Agriculture Development, Asian Development Bank and EBRD.
