According to the Director of Kyrgyz independent analytical centre IGLA Dimitry Orlov, there is big competition to become regional leader between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. He says that some time ago Turkmenistan also entered this competition. All three countries have sought to gain an advantage over the others and thus attract global players Russia, USA and China.
Orlov says that near the end of the last century the Americans entered Kyrgyzstan through the IMF and the World Bank. Russia started regaining its position only some time later.
Orlov says that Kyrgyzstan will never be one sided pro-American, pro-Russian or pro-Chinese. as for Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, the big game has already started and we will see in near future who will be allied with whom.
