US to assist in Caspian deal

The US Government has offered its assistance in resolving the dispute between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan over the division of Caspian Sea waters, US State Department representative has stated at a press conference in Ashgabat. He expressed his position that eventually the two countries will resolve the dispute. He also underlined that the US and EU countries want this dispute to be resolved as soon as possible so that NABUCCO and other projects can be implemented successfully. It was suggested that the pipeline be laid on the Caspian Sea bed without the prior resolution of the issue of the divisions of the sea.
