During his recent visit to Yerevan the Lithuanian Foreign Minister tried to promote the establishment of the 3+3 format, in which the 3 South Caucasus countries will enter into relations with the 3 Baltic republics for their mutual benefit. In fact Vygaudas Usackas went even further, suggesting that this format could become 3+4, Turkey being the fourth country as it has established good relations with all the South Caucasus countries.
In 2003 Georgia and Lithuania promoted a new format of cooperation between the six countries of these two regions. This likewise involved establishing good neighbourly relations between the countries in the region, something rather problematic when Armenia is occupying Azeri territory. But things change, and who knows how things will develop in the South Caucasus in the near future?
