According to the participants of the conference held recently in the Russian city of Kazan, Russia sees Iran as a strategic ally. It was said during the conference that there is no alternative to Moscow and Tehran entering into strategic cooperation. Economic, social and cultural and political issues should be developed in the relations between these two countries, thinks Russian analyst Professor Sergey Druzhilovsky.
Russian academics highlighted that the West does not welcome Russia developing strategic relations with Iran and therefore Moscow should maintain a very balanced position. We should be very careful because Russia is both a Western and an Islamic country, said Professor Druzhilovsky.
