First Deputy Chair of the CIS Executive Board Vladimir Garkun thinks that in 2010 a treaty will be signed which will create a free trade zone with the CIS. This project has been drafted by Russia and been sent to the capitals of other member countries.
The Kremlin expects discussion of the project to end and its implementation to begin in 2010. Medvedev-Putin Russia is trying to accelerate the integration of the CIS to increase its sphere of influence and confirm its dominating role in this organisation but this is not that easy to do and the results of it might be unfavourable to Moscow.
