Russia biggest investor in Armenia

In 2009 the overall volume of Russian investments in Armenia was more than USD 500 million. Although this represents a 43% drop in investments compared with 2008, Russia is still the biggest investor in Armenia’s economy.
Russia's investments are mainly in industry, electricity, gas, hot water and hydropower distribution, transportation, communications and so on. The total amount of foreign direct investment in Armenia in 2009 was almost USD 1 billion.
