NABUCCO's Public Relations Department head Christian Dolesal has stated that the issue of attracting investment for the project might be resolved before the end of 2010. He says that the feasibility study is almost complete and negotiations are underway with landowners along the pipeline's route. It is therefore supposed that the pipeline will start being constructed in 2011, with the first lot of gas transported by the beginning of 2015.
Dolesal says that the project's shareholders have been negotiating with Iraq and Turkmenistan, as well as Azerbaijan, to attract more gas for the pipeline, which is a very efficient route for transporting natural gas to European countries by bypassing Russia.
