Monday, June 14
According to June 7 data GEL 1.419 billion in cash is circulating in Georgia, 20% more than at the same point last year. It should be said that in 2005 only GEL 693 million was circulating in Georgia, in 2006 795 million, in 2007 893 million, in 2008 1.205 billion.

Analysts think that the circulation of extra cash has no connection with the devaluation of the GEL against the USD. Analyst Avtandil Silagadze thinks that the increasing quantity of imports is more dangerous than extra lari being in circulation.
