Iraqi Kurdistan to become gas exporter

The administration of the Iraqi Kurdish Autonomous Region plans to establish several natural gas fields so that the region can become a serious player in exporting natural gas to Europe via Turkey. President of Iraqi Kurdistan Masud Barzani is calculating an appropriate price for this gas, which could be lower than Russian or Azeri prices. However the central administration of Iraq is against the Kurdish administration concluding economic contracts with any international party directly.
The Iraqi Government says that nobody should dream of selling natural gas extracted there without its consent. However from the professional point of view Kurdistan can provide enough gas to satisfy NABUCCO pipeline demands. NABUCCO and Turkey are interested in the Kurdistan gas field project, so new intrigue is emerging from the region.
