Russia bribed Nauru for recognizing Georgia’s breakaway regions

An analyst from the Armenian institute for political research, Sergey Shakarian stated that Russia paid around USD 2 billion to Nauru for recognizing Abkhazia and South Ossetia as independent states. He cited this information as an argument for Armenia’s moves in regards of Karabakh problem, suggesting Armenia should mobilize its financial resources through its worldwide Diaspora and move to encourage different countries to recognizing Karabakh. According to the analyst Armenia and Karabakh should take more active steps in this direction. Shakarian however made a serious distinction between the Kosovo precedent and the situation in Karabakh.
