Moscow's ban on wheat exports has caused bread prices to rise in countries which buy Russian wheat. Armenia is among one such country and prices there have already risen. Armenia consumes around 700 000 tonnes of wheat annually, while it produces only 200 000 tonnes itself. One of the leaders of the consumers' rights protection organisation of Armenia, Pogosyan thinks that given the current situation, Armenia should increase imports of wheat from Iran.
