Where do tourists get information on Georgia?

Georgia's Tourism Department conducted a special research project. The results showed that interest in Georgia has increased due to TV advertising. However the major source of information about Georgia remains the same – tales from friends and relatives. The research found that holiday makers have different sources for information about Georgia. Friends and relatives – 61 percent, Internet – 11 percent, media – 2.5 percent, tourist agencies – 1.9 percent, tourist exhibitions and faires – 0.7 percent. The research also revealed the kinds of information tourists need the most. Information about mountain resorts – 29 percent, information about seaside resorts – 27 percent, information about two-days tours – 20 percent. Finally, some Georgian tourists ask for information on resorts abroad.
