Georgia’s trade turnover in 2010

Georgia’s trade turnover in January-July 2010 reached USD 7.5 billion, which is 18 percent higher than the same period last year. Exports were USD 865 million, representing an increase of 41 percent, imports were USD 2.6 billion – an increased of 12 percent. There is negative balance of USD 1.8 billion. Georgia's largest trading partner is Turkey with USD 587 million in the last seven months. It is followed by Azerbaijan – USD 369 million, then Ukraine – USD 341 million. Trade turnover with EU countries has increased and reached USD 913 million. What is interesting is the fact that trade turnover with CIS countries also increased by 28 percent, compared with the same period of last year and reached USD 1.1 billion. From this figure, exports are USD 344 million.
