On September 2 the Chechen parliament adopted a new law renaming the position of president of the republic; from now on Ramzan Kadirov is no longer president of the Chechen republic but only its head. The constitution will be amended accordingly. All presidents of the Russian federation republics supported the initiative of Ramzan Kadirov made on August 12 in which he stated that there should be just one president in the Russian federation and the remaining leaders should have different titles. He chose 'Head of the Republic' for himself.
