Head of Armenia’s producers' union Vasgen Saparian thinks that an increase in the price of natural gas will be a heavy burden for Armenian consumers. Saparian explains the current decrease in consumption of natural gas as due to the price rise. He thinks that a price rise from USD 180 to USD 303 per 1000 cubic meters will prove very hard for the country's population, particularly as salaries and pensions have barely increased, and this is cause for concern.
