Armenia did not support the UN resolution on the occupied territories of Georgia, concerning Georgia’s territorial integrity and the return of Internally Displaced Persons to their original homes. Only Armenia and Russia, of the post Soviet states, opposed the resolution. It appears that Armenia may start bargaining with Georgia, asking the latter to support Armenia over the Karabakh issue. It is widely known that, in the near future, the UNGA is going to consider an Azeri prepared resolution draft concerning Karabakh. Georgia has refused to give promises in support of Armenia on the Karabakh issue and therefore Armenia voted against the Georgian resolution.
