Friday, October 8
Iranian news agency Mehr News reports Iran’s national gas company NIGEC and Turkish company Som Petrol concluded an agreement worth Euro 1 bln to construct another gas pipeline enable Iran to transport its gas to Europe via Turkey. The agency reports that the Turkish side is ready to begin implementing the project in the near future.

This is very significant because of the controversial situation which will arise. US special envoy in energy issues Richard Morningstar ruled out any possibility transporting Iranian gas to Europe, while on October 6, the Turkish president encouraged businessmen to increase trade relations with Iran. So any decision in this regards will be very important and the reaction of both countries’ leadership is expected soon.
