Nika Gilauri Doesn’t Confirm Information of Israeli Businessmen Lawyer
The Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gialuri, refused to confirm reports of a lawyer of Israeli businessmen, who said that Roni Fux and Zeev Frenkiel arrived in Georgia by personal invitation of Gilauri.
‘Their lawyers can say more things, all the comments were made about it,’ Giauri noted.
The Israeli businessmen were detained on the meeting with Deputy Finance Minister Avtandil Kharaidze in Batumi. They are accused of offering a bribe to the statesman for which
Roni Fux and Zeev Frenkiel were detained.
According to yesterday’s information, President Shimon Peres phoned Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili regarding the issue. (Interpressnews)
Executive Director of Millennium Challenge Corporation Arrives In Georgia
The Chief Executive Director of the “Millennium Challenge Corporation” arrived in Georgia on Sunday.
The Georgian President’s press speaker Manana Manjgaladze made the announcement at a briefing of October 19.
The Chief Executive Director will meet with President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili and discuss specific projects and plans for future cooperation.
“There are plans for future cooperation, including a project of the Batumi University of modern technologies. All of these specific issues will be discussed at the meetings in Georgia "- said Manana Manjgaladze. (Prime-News)
Georgia recalls consul from Austria
Georgian Foreign Ministry has recalled its consul Tamar Kikvidze from Austria because of the misbehavior of her son. Allegedly, the son of the consul stabbed a citizen of Austria in a dispute.
A general inspection of the ministry investigated the incident and the decision to dismiss the consul was taken after the conclusion of the investigation.
In terms of her work of the consul, the Foreign Ministry says Tamar Kikvidze was performing her duties perfectly. (Rustavi 2)

The head of the party 'Movement for Fair Georgia', Zurab Noghaideli is in Europe, according to information released to InterPressNews by the party press office.
The press office has not reported any details regarding the plans of Noghaideli. They explain that the party’s leader will speak about the details after returning to Georgia.
Levan Gachechiladze, leader of the new party ‘Georgian Party’, is also in Europe. Irakli Okruashvili consulted with Zurab Noghaideli about opposition unity, before forming the new political team. Manufacturers of fake diplomas arrested
The officers of the Special Operative Department of Kvemo Kartli Region have detained Ioseb Iobashvili-the Rector of Humanitarian-Medical Institute, Berdia Khomasuridze- Pro-rector of the Institute, Nizam Gasanov- head of the teaching department and secretary-operator- Sadaget Valieva. The mentioned persons were suspected of issuing fake diplomas for the citizens of Azerbaijan and received 3000 USD for each manufactured diploma.
In the course of the investigation, it was established that suspects issued false diplomas not only for the citizens of Azerbaijan but for Georgian citizens as well.
The investigation is still in progress under the article 362 envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia. (Rustavi 2)
