Ukraine to transit Caspian oil

President Yanukovich of Ukraine has given an order for the Odessa Brodi oil pipeline to start transporting oil in the reverse direction, so that it becomes possible to pump Caspian oil from Odessa towards Brodi. The significance of receiving Azeri oil in Ukraine was highlighted by President Yanukovich. Azeri president Aliyev expressed his country’s readiness to increase the volume of sales of its oil to Ukraine. In November a pilot project transporting Venezuelan oil from Odessa to Brodi will begin.
