Former opposition member and economic analyst Irakli Iashvili stated that Georgian economy produces nothing and only consumes. The highest indicators in the Georgian economy are the growth in trade, the construction industry and a little bit of processing. On the other hand there is a downward trend, particularly in agriculture. Agriculture is in a very serious state, while about 57% of the population is involved in the agricultural sector, it accounts for only 9% of GDP. The analyst expressed his concern about problems with the state debt mentioning that most of the money issued by banks in loans is coming from abroad.
