Mikheil Saakashvili Invites Investors in Anaklia

Investors who will invest in hotel construction in Anaklia, Samegrelo region, will enjoy special privileges. Mikheil Saakashvili made this statement for investors in Anaklia.

According to the President, businessmen who build hotels in Anaklia, will be exempt from profit and property taxes for 15 years.

‘We will give land to investors free of charge; we will provide all kinds of communications; we will build a road; and we are starting construction of Anaklia-Zugdidi airport,’ Saakashvili said.

According to the President, the term for submission of applications expires in January, while construction should be completed by the spring of 2012. (Interpressnews)



National Centre of Disease Control to be reorganised

The National Center of Disease Control will be reorganised. The centre’s reorganisation which will start very soon will entail a reduction in the number of employees, Paata Imnadze, head of the centre, told InterpressNews.

Paata Imnadze is not yet aware whether or not he will keep his post. Shota Tsanava, deputy head of the National Centre of Disease Control, is also unaware of any details. According to him, everything will be decided by the Ministry of Healthcare. (Interpressnews)



Saakashvili to attend Mexico Climate Change Summit

President Mikheil Saakashvili and the Minister of Environmental Protection, Goga Khachidze will take part in a summit on climate change in Mexico .

A similar summit was held in Copenhagen last year, but did not manage to adopt an important decision then, Khachidze said at the Prime Time press club.

The Georgian President and the Minister of Environmental Protection will leave for Mexico on December 5. The visit will last until December 11. (Interpressnews)



Ukrainians, Georgian among dead in Pakistan plane crash

One Georgian and seven Ukrainians made up the crew who died when their cargo plane crashed in Karachi early on Sunday, France Press reported based on the Pakistan source.

However, the Georgian registered owner of the plane, Sunway Air Company, failed to confirm the report.

Georgia to be West European Union Partner state

Georgia will become a Partner State of the West European Union - the country will be granted the status at the Parliamentary Assembly, which opened in France on Tuesday.

The status will enable Georgia to have a permanent delegation to the West European Union’s Parliamentary Assembly.

The Georgian delegation left for France early on Tuesday to attend the Assembly. Georgian lawmakers say that due to its geographical location, Georgia is now a Western European state, therefore, the status of a partner to the union is the most that Georgia can get from relations with the organisation. Journalists want Involvement in Improvement of Electoral Environment Negotiations

6 journalists have expressed a wish to get involved in the current negotiations between the government and the opposition on improving the electoral environment. They made the announcement in the Caucasus internet media club on November 30.

The journalists represent the following media organisations: Media House Palitra, news agency ‘Pirveli’, ‘Versia’ newspaper, Resonance newspaper, and the Internet edition presa.ge.

The journalists say if they are allowed to monitor the negotiations, all information will become available for those people who are interested. Two meetings have already been held between the government and the opposition on the improvement of the electoral environment. (Interpressnews)



South Ossetia to get 6.8 billion Rubles from Russia

“De facto South Ossetia will get 6.8 billion rubles from Russia next year,” Eduard Kokoity, de facto president of South Ossetia said in his interview with Reuters. He explained that the money will mainly be spent on construction works.

In addition, Tskhinvali will be granted the right to determine itself, like Moscow, how to spend funds. According to Kokoity, finances will be controlled by the so-called finance ministry. The construction works will be supervised by Russian vice premier Igor Shuvalov. (Interpressnews)
