In order to become profitable, Odesa-Brodi pipeline should pump minimum 10 million tonnes of oil annually. Ukrainian fuel and energy minister Yuri Boiko stated this some days ago. Through pumping this amount of oil Ukraine will receive additional revenues. Today Ukraine has received an offer from Belarus to pump 5 million tonnes of Venezuelan oil annually from Odessa to Brodi. There is also an offer from Azerbaijan who are prepared to pump 8 mln tonnes of oil annually. These figures already make up more than enough to make the pipeline profitable. The pilot pumping of 80 000 tonnes of oil was carried out on November 24. As Ukrainian media reports, in 2011, the Odessa Brodi pipeline will start working to its full capacity by using Azerbaijani and Venezuelan oil and pumping them to Belarus refineries.
