Economic Minister Met Anti-Crisis Council Members

The Minister of Economics and Sustainable Development Vera Kobalia attended the Parliament’s anti-crisis council session held on December 17, 24 Hours reports.

Vera Kobalia attended the Parliament’s anti-crisis council session and reported the ongoing reforms and the economic strategy of the ministry to the lawmakers. The minister covered the process of privatization and the prospects of tourism development in the country. In addition, the minister listened to the recommendations made by the council members. Chairperson of the council, Gia Tortladze introduced the recommendations to the minister personally. He said he spoke about five basic directions, which should be a priority in the process of the country`s economic development.

It was the first meeting of the Minister of Economics and Sustainable Development with the lawmakers. The minister talked about the process of privatization and the prospects of tourism development in the country. Kobalia was given recommendations by the council members, voiced by the chairman of the anti-crisis council.



Georgia and Croatia have signed agreement on cooperation

Croatia and Georgia have signed an agreement on cooperation in economy, culture and tourism.

As the Georgian Foreign Ministry reports, the agreement was signed during the Foreign Minister of Georgia Grigol Vashadze’a visit to Croatia, 24 hours reports.

Within the visit, Grigol Vashadze held a meeting with the President of Croatia.

As Vashadze noted in a conversation with Georgian journalists, during the meeting with President of Croatia Ivo Josipovic, it was agreed that good, stable political relations, based on democratic values, had been established between Georgia and Croatia.

"The necessity of development and expansion of bilateral cooperation in economy, culture and tourism was mentioned at the meeting. The Croatian President voiced a number of new ideas and suggestions, which we gladly accepted," - said Vashadze.

The minister also held meetings with members of the Croatian government and the chairman of parliament Luka Bebic.

"We discussed Georgia's integration into NATO and the EU and issues of rendering assistance to Georgia in these processes from the Croatian side" – Vashadze noted.
