South Caucasus in the economic freedom rating

The US based Heritage research center and the Wall Street Journal recently published the ratings for the economic freedom level around the world. Georgia is proud that it was named in 29th place among 183 countries who’s economic freedom was assessed. Armenia is in 36th place, whereas Azerbaijan is holding 92nd place and their economy was categorized as not being free. The report shows that for the last 17 years, the leading position belongs to Hong Kong, second comes Singapore and then Australia. Then follow New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada, Ireland, Denmark, USA and Bahrain. The leader in the post soviet republics is Estonia, which is 14th in the rating. Russia is in 143rd place, with Ukraine in 164th position.
