A round table meeting for political analysts was held in Moscow on February 10 to discuss the situation and Russia’s role in the South Caucasus. Analyst Andrey Epipantsev expressed his opinion regarding the situation in South Caucasus – in the Karabakh conflict Armenia supported by Russia confronts Azerbaijan supported by Turkey, which according to the analyst is not a fruitful policy for Russia. He also suggested that there should be more contact between Russia and Georgia despite the current problems and in addition that the present embargo on Georgian products into Russia should be lifted. In his opinion this would solve some of the current issues straight away but delay the solution of more difficult problems.
