Opposition criticizes official position

Since 2005, the budget for agriculture has increased by 35%, whereas the budget for the Ministry of Interior has risen by 362%. These figures were highlighted by Nino Burjanadze’s party, Democratic Movement United Georgia. Their statement reminded the population that, since 2005, President Saakashvili has repeatedly promised to facilitate the development of agriculture and other sectors. However, in reality, this has not been the case. The statement says that the budget for agriculture, since 2005, increased from GEL 51 mln to GEL 69 mln. In the same period, the Ministry of Interior budget increased from 156 mln to 566 mln.
