Position of Iran and Turkey with the background of development of Arab countries

Russian orientalist professor Vitaly Naumkin expressed his view on the developments in the Middle East and the problems with the Arab world. In the short term, the scholar thinks that Iran and Turkey will become more powerful which would increase their potential while much of the Arab world undergoes very painful and difficult change. He suggested that the importance of Iran and Turkey in the region would considerably increase. Naumkin also stressed that the events in Arab world should be a lesson for those leaders who are using authoritarian methods.
