644 Projects in Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region
The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has implemented 644 projects in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region of Georgia, 24 Hours reports.
The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Ramaz Nikolaishvili and the head of the President’s administration Davit Tkeshelashvili visited the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region on March 2.
Projects implemented in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region in 2010 were discussed at the meeting with the Governor and the heads of municipal governments of the region.
Within the governmental program “Support to Village” and the Foundation of Regional Projects, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure implemented 644 projects in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. GEL 6,5 million was spent on these projects.
Marijuana to be legalized in Georgia?!

According to the newspaper, an initiative on legalizing marijuana belongs to several high-ranking officials of Georgia and in near future the opening of clubs where smoking of marijuana will be allowed is planned.
At the same time, the newspaper cites the opinion of doctors who are against drug use, including light ones. According to the doctor Nino Kalandadze, marijuana causes different kind of diseases, such as lung cancer, cerebral atrophy and schizophrenia.
An opponent of marijuana’s use is a psychiatrist Devi Asatiani, who predicts a sharp increase in the number drug user in the country in the event of legalization of marijuana.
There has been no comment from representatives of the government regarding the matter in the newspaper.
