The Armenian agricultural ministry has stated that the situation concerning food supply security in Armenia is not satisfactory. Armenia supplies around 76% of its agricultural products. The Armenian government plans to elaborate a food supply security program before 2012 which would stimulate production of strategically important food staff in the country. The concept envisages increasing the level of self satisfaction in the country as well as accessibility of the products to the population. This means that the country has to supply its population with sufficient products at an affordable price.
