Tbilisi Welcomes Military Operations In Libya
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia welcomes the coalition forces’ military operation in Libya.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Nino Kalandadze commented on the developments at a routine briefing, held on March 21.
“We are not members of the coalition and so, we are not able to support them officially, though Georgia welcomes the UN’s Security Council’s resolution on military operations in Libya”, - Nino Kalandadze said.
Nino Kalandadze hoped that the military operations would be finished soon and expressed sorrow for Libyan civilians’ death during the bombing.

President of NATO Parliamentary Assembly Has Arrived In Georgia
President of NATO Parliamentary Assembly Karl A. Lamers has arrived in Georgia.
The delegation of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly chaired by Karl A. Lamers is paying a two-day official visit to Georgia.
Within the visit Karl Lamers will meet with Security Council Secretary of Georgia Giga Bokeria, Parliament Speaker David Bakradze, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri and State Minister on Integration into European and Euro-Atlantic Structures Giorgi Baramidze.
Today, a meeting with the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili is scheduled.
On March 23 Karl Lamers will take part in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s 76th Rose seminar where a discussion on issues related to Georgian-Russian conflicts will be held.
According to Georgian lawmakers this visit is yet another step forward in the process of the country’s integration into the alliance.

Term `occupation` written in yet another international resolution
The term occupation has been used in regards to Georgia in yet another international resolution adopted by the committee for cooperation between the European and Georgian parliaments.
Before the adoption of the document, the committee session was held, where a delegation of Georgian lawmakers was also present.
The resolution reviews the situation in Georgia`s occupied territories, Abkhazia and Tskhinvali Region. With the same document, the European Parliament calls upon the EU to speed up negotiations regarding the Free Trade Relations agreement with Georgia.
Georgian MPs welcomed the adoption of the resolution, which described the situation in the conflict regions as `occupation` once again. They say similar documents reaffirm the diplomatic position of Georgia, which should ultimately be followed by the de-occupation of its territories.

PM opens new factory in Tserovani
The Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri attended the presentation of a new Georgian factory Berta, which produces hygienic and other domestic products. The factory was constructed in the village of Tserovani, where the settlements for IDPs from the conflict region were constructed after the August war in 2008. Prime Minister said it was very important that the factory operated in Tserovani and IDPs from conflict regions were employed there.
PM said 35 million GEL was invested in the construction of the factory and over 200 people were employed there, most of them IDPs.
The construction of the factory was planned three years ago in the Tbilisi district of Lilo, but after the August war the plans changed and the government decided to construct it in Tserovani.
The industrial complex of the factory includes five separate buildings on 7 hectares of territory.
The products will emerge on the Georgian market in a few weeks after which the company plans to export its product

Meeting with Patriarch`s godchildren
The senior religious figures of the Georgian Orthodox Church hosted the Godchildren of His Holiness, Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia, and Ilia II at the Holy Trinity Youth Center yesterday.
Similar meetings will be held every Monday from now on. The meeting aims to explain and introduce the significance of baptizing to parents and other members of the families of the Patriarch`s Godchildren. The guests were also able to see a film about the Georgian Patriarch.
For subsequent weeks, the staff of the Patriarch`s administration will contact the families of Patriarch`s godchildren in advance to inform them about the date of the meetings.

Ceremony of Mountainous-Rescue Training Completion to Be Held In Gudauri
A ceremony of mountain-rescue training will be held in Gudauri on March25.
Prime-New was informed from the French Embassy that the program intends to hold a show of rescue activities in mountains, after that the ceremony where certificates are handed out will be held at the hotel “Freerider”. Afterwards a cocktail party will be held to celebrate the achievement of the trainees.
Representatives of the media, Georgian government and local authority will attend the ceremony.
