The winter tourist season in Georgia started very late as there was no snow in the resorts until late January. So, December and January were barren months for tourism. Tourists began arriving only sometimes in the early February. In the winter season 2010, Gudauri and Bakuriani were visited by around 60 000 tourists and the country received around USD 90 mln in revenue. The forecast for the 2011 tourist season is more cheerful. The season is still going and it is premature to make final results, the only hope is that it will last at least up to mid April. Otherwise last year's figures would be hard to beat.
